Places to visit: Arusha, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. This safari takes you to three of Tanzania’s most spectacular attractions at a relatively relaxed pace. You start at Lake Manyara National Park, an ornithologists’ paradise that is also famous for the elusive tree-climbing lions. Then proceed to Serengeti, probably the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world. Serengeti is a big game haven that also hosts over 3 million large mammals, then end with Ngorongoro Crater, which supports a year round resident population of a variety of wildlife. It is an attraction in its own right and is one of the wonders of the natural world. Your stay is in top class accommodation throughout.

Itinerary:
Day 1: ARUSHA / LAKE MANYARA
The tour starts with lunch at Impala Hotel, Arusha town, at 1230hrs. At 1400hrs, drive to Lake Manyara.
You will spend the night at Kirurumu Tented Lodge. The lodge is perched on the edge of the Mto Wa Mbu escarpment and has great views of the Great Rift Valley and Lake Manyara itself.

Day 2: LAKE MANYARA
After breakfast, Enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park.
Famous for its breathtaking show of flamingos, this park also hosts the very rare tree-climbing lions. This is the only other location in the world where you can encounter these elusive lions. Add the over 400 species of birds, Big Five, blue monkeys, dik-dik, gazelle, hippo, giraffe, impala among others and this 330 sq. km park is a game lover and birdwatchers’ paradise.
Return to the lodge for lunch. After Lunch, drive to Serengeti National Park.
Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge
Day 3: SERENGETI
After breakfast, Enjoy a morning and afternoon game drives in the endless plains of the Serengeti for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. Lunch will be served at Serengeti Sopa Lodge
Serengeti is the stage on which the most spectacular wonder of nature takes place, the Great Migration. It is on this park that millions of ungulates comprising of wildebeests and zebras make that all important trek from the Serengeti to the Maasai Mara National Park in Kenya. But that’s not all the Serengeti has to offer, it boasts the largest and highest concentration of wildlife in the world. Spanning an impressive 15,000 sq km area, this savannah is home to all the members of the Big 5, the splendid cheetah, gazelles, African wild dog, giraffes and approximately 500 species of bird, making it a bird watchers’ paradise as well.

Day 4: SERENGETI -NGORONGORO
After breakfast, Depart for a morning game drive in the Serengeti National Park. Lunch will be served at Serengeti Sopa Lodge. After lunch drive to Olduvai Gorge, which is the prehistoric site where Dr. Louis Leakey discovered the remains of Homo habilis (’Handy man’) regarded as mankind’s first step on the path of human evolution. Their findings include some of the man’s earliest known ancestral remains.
Then proceed to Ngorongoro Conservation Area to arrive for Dinner at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge. The lodge sits on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater from where you get awesome views of the collapsed volcano.

Day 5: NGORONGORO
After breakfast, depart for a day crater tour with picnic lunch. This area’s main attraction is the Ngorongoro Crater, fondly known as “Africa’s Garden of Eden”. A candidate for the new seven wonders of the world, this massive crater holds its own in that category. Being the world’s largest unbroken caldera, Ngorongoro is home to over 25,000 animals. It is considered one of the best game viewing spots in the world with a chance to see the big five, zebras and wildebeests. The crater holds almost every individual species of wildlife in East Africa including the extremely rare and critically endangered Black Rhino. You will have an opportunity to explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkeys and elephants, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food.

Day 6
0800 hrs- After breakfast, drive back to Arusha Town, Lunch will be served at Impala Hotel

When arranging for your international air tickets, note that it is usually cheaper to disembark at Nairobi in Kenya. You then take a shuttle bus to Arusha at a cost of US$ 20. This shuttle bus leaves at 0800 and 1400 hrs daily from either Nairobi or Arusha. The drive takes 5 hours inclusive of time taken to go through the Immigration at Namanga border. If you wish to make use of this option, please indicate so.
