Spectacular Garden Route Explorer
Back To List
Summary:
This Spectacular 4-day tour takes you through some of Western Cape’s most beautiful and serene spots: The amazing Garden Route, the magical Knysna and the magnificent Oudshoorn.
THE GARDEN ROUTE is renowned for its dense and lush forests. The subcontinent?s largest and among its last mountain forests.
Their dense canopies allow enough sunlight through to sustain a fantasia of fern, shrub, herb, lichen and moss. The Garden Route?s seasons are less pronounced than those of other regions and year round rainfall ensures there are always some plants in flower.
KNYSNA: Voted South Africa?s best small town in a recent competition, there is something magical about Knysna that seduces people. Perhaps it is the famous forest with its elusive, shy elephants or the incredible vistas of the lagoon and the ocean beyond.
At the Knysna Heads the ocean crashes spectacularly through a narrow rocky outcrop to feed the tranquil waters of the lagoon. The town boasts numerous art galleries, coffee shops and restaurants of quality and produces a sought-after delight-oysters!
OUDSHOORN: Home to the local ostrich industry, Oudshoorn lies in an arid but spectacular setting in the shadow of the Swartberg Mountains. The fabulous mansions built by rich ostrich farmers of yesteryear are a must see, as are the awe inspiring Cango Caves
