DAY 1: CAPE TOWN - LANGEBAAN
0900 hrs: Pick-up from your hotel. Depart for the West Coast Ostrich Ranch for a guided tour to discover many aspects of these amazing birds, their glorious feathers and enormous eggs.
Be brave, bring your camera and be photographed sitting on an ostrich against the magnificent scenic backdrop of Table Mountain. Curio and leather shop available. Our next stop is the West Coast National Park where a rich diversity of bird species can be observed in great numbers. Over 360 species have been recorded in that area.
Overnight at the gracious 4 star Farmhouse Hotel at Langebaan on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
DAY 2: LANGEBAAN - BUSHMANSKLOOF WILDERNESS RESERVE
After breakfast we travel via Piketberg, an area of vast contrast and unexpected beauty. Rolling wheat fields, vineyards, fruit growing farms, wines and rich fynbos. Travel over the Piekenierskloof pass and you descend into a different world of towering mountains and fruit-filled valleys.
At Clanwilliam the tarred road ends and the real adventure begins. The climb over the Pakhuis pass in the Cederberg mountains winds through gargantuan clusters of mottled orange boulders - a giant?s playground of weird shapes and forms that lead to the entrance of the Bushmanskloof Wilderness Reserve.
This 5 star property of the world renowned group Relais & Chateaux is an ecological oasis. Depart on an evening game drive with sundowners, enjoy a fantastic dinner and sleep in luxury accommodation.
DAY 3: BUSHMANSKLOOF - LAMBERTS BAY
Begin your day with an early morning guided rock art excursion to view a selection of their world renowned 130 pristine rock art sites. A buffet brunch will follow before we check out.
Our next stop is Lamberts Bay, picturesque seaside village in the heart of crayfish country. We visit Bird Island that provides shelter and protection for thousands of sea birds, particularly Cape gannets, various species of cormorants and penguins. A modern look-out provides a face-to-face encounter with the birds.
We book in at the cozy 3 star Lamberts Bay Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis. Dinner tonight is a seafood experience of a lifetime at the open air beach restaurant Muisbosskerm, during season, or at the Crayfish House restaurant.
DAY 4: LAMBERTS BAY - CAPE TOWN
We return to Clanwilliam and stop at the Rooibos Tea factory for a very interesting encounter with this magical tea, now available all over the world and grown in Clanwilliam.
