Summary:

This package takes you to the Mauritian paradise for 4 nights at the Hotel Ambre. Ambre Hotel is on the sheltered bay of Palmar in the east coast at Belle Mare in Mauritius - along a beach of 1km of white sand and the turquoise blue sea of Mauritius. The hotel is just 55 mins by road to Mauritius? main airport and 40 mins drive to Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius.

The package includes two full day excursions.
The first excursion takes you to discover Port Louis -the main capital plus the Pamplemousses Gardens. This world famous gardens dates back to 1735, and has a large collection of exotic and indigenous plants.

At Port Louis, appreciate first hand the cosmopolitan mix in the Mauritian lifestyle, and get an opportunity to shop till you drop.

The second tour takes you to the south, one of the most scenic and unspoilt stretches of the island. This includes a stop at Curepipe, where there are numerous duty-free shops; here you can buy oriental carpets, watches, craft, paintings and top designer garments at competitive prices.

You also visit the extinct crater of Trou aux Cerfs, the sacred lake of Grand Bassin, the unique seven coloured earths of Chamarel and admiring the breath-taking Black River Gorges. The scenery here is nothing short of amazing.

Itinerary:

Day 1: ARRIVAL IN MAURITIUS

On arrival at the airport, you will be met by an Africa Point representative and transferred to your hotel where you are booked on half board accommodation.

Ambre Hotel is on the sheltered bay of Palmar in the east coast at Belle Mare in Mauritius - along a beach of 1km of white sand and the turquoise blue sea of Mauritius. Ambre is just 55 min to Mauritius main airport and 40 min drive to Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius. The American writer Mark Twain was so enchanted by the islands exceptional beauty that he wrote: "You gather the idea that Mauritius was made first and then heaven, and that heaven was copied after Mauritius".

Day 2: AT LEISURE
All day relaxation at your beach hotel in Palmar Beach. Mauritius is placed magically on a vibrant tropical island in the Indian Ocean with endless white sandy beaches and over a hundred shades of blue in the seas. The Mauritian weather is athe typical coastal tropical climate; there are no extremes of temperature. Winter, from July to September, when humidity and heat are lower, is the best time to take a Mauritius holiday safari. Tropical rains are likely from January to April, when one can romance indoors. For diving enthusiasts, the clearest waters are between December and March; surfers are advised to go between June and August; while anglers will be delighted at the big game fishing available from October to April.

Day 3: DAY TOUR
On this day you will be picked up from your hotel for a Taste of Mauritius tour. On this tour, you will see the Giant water lilies at Pamplemousses Botanical Gardens.
You will also tour Port Louis, the Capital of Mauritius and indulge in Duty-free shopping at Miraj and Le Caudan Waterfront. You also have an optional visit to Blue Penny Museum.
Return later to your hotel for dinner and overnight. (This tour can only depart on either Wednesdays or Fridays)

Day 4: DAY TOUR
After breakfast at the Hotel Ambre, you will depart for the Scenic South.
The south of Mauritius is one of the most scenic and unspoilt parts of the island. On this day, you visit Mauritius Glass Gallery to see traditional methods applied to recycled glass. Enjoy a panoramic view from Trou aux Cerfs which is a dormant volcanic crater.

Other places you will also visit include: The Sacred Lake of Grand Bassin (Ganga Talao), site of Lord Shiva?s Temple, The Black River Gorges, Lunch at an exclusive private forest lodge - Domaine Saint Denis, the seven coloured earths of Chamarel and finally a visit to Casela Park with its panoramic view over the West Coast. (This tour can only depart on either Tuesdays or Thursdays)

Dinner and Overnight at Hotel Ambre.

Day 5: DEPARTURE
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your homebound flight.
