Tour Summary:
Places to visit: Victoria Falls, Chobe and Okavango Delta. This is a fast-paced and exhilarating safari that combines Zambia and Botswana. It starts off at the Victoria Falls where you get to see the falls from every angle. Activities such as helicopter flights or balloon trips over the falls, a cruise on the Zambezi River and elephant back safaris in the African bush are available. You then drive to Chobe to meet with the 45,000 herd of elephants that gather at the Chobe River. Next stop - Okavango Delta, where you are assured of seeing the ’big five’ on your game drives. Finish off at Eagle Island camp, a treasure chest of game and aquatic birds. Here, you will enjoy nature walks, mokoro (canoe) trips and experience the sun setting over the delta.

Itinerary:
Day 1: ARRIVE VICTORIA FALLS/ LIVINGSTONE
Upon arrival at Victoria Falls Airport (Zimbabwe) or Livingstone Airport (Zambia), you will be met by Africa Point representative and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to explore this exciting area. You could also take an optional helicopter flight of angels or balloon trip over the falls. This afternoon, enjoy a sundowner cruise on the Zambezi River.
Victoria Falls is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world. The local Kololo tribe calls it ’Mosi-oa-Tunya’ or ’The Smoke that thunders’. Situated on the border of Zimbabwe and Zambia, the Victoria Falls occur where the steadily flowing Zambezi river, unaware of what lies ahead, casually approaches the falls, then suddenly plunges down a series of basalt gorges in a breathtaking display of several waterfalls.
Mist and thunder from the falls can be seen and heard from far off. The spray from the falls sustains the rain forest on the opposite wall of basalt and creates an almost constant rainbow visible even by the light of the moon. The falls are best seen from the air, thus activities such as helicopter flights, balloon rides and micro-lighting over the falls are a must do. Other exciting activities available are bungee jumping off the bridge - which also gives a spectacular view down the gorge, canoeing, white water rafting, river safaris, elephant back safaris and many more.
For those who are prepared to brave the tremendous spray of the falls, there are nature walks through the rain forest giving an unparalleled series of views of the falls. Animal lovers are not to be left out. The Victoria Falls National Park and Zambezi National Park provide a home for big game such as elephants, buffalo, lions, giraffe, antelopes, and baboons amongst others. Riverine bird life is also plentiful and the Zambezi is renowned for its variety of fish.

Day 2: VICTORIA FALLS
After breakfast at the hotel, set out to experience a guided tour of the mighty Victoria Falls and a visit to the local craft market, which depicts traditional Africa lifestyle. Afternoon you are free to explore the town.

Day 3: VICTORIA FALLS/ CHOBE NATIONAL PARK
Check out of your hotel. Drive to Chobe National Park (2 hours), famous for its huge herds of elephant. Check into your luxury lodge and enjoy lunch with stunning views of the Chobe River. In the afternoon you will be taken on a boat safari on the Chobe River before returning to the lodge for dinner.
Chobe National Park is named after the Chobe River. It is the second largest national park in Botswana and is home to a large animal population and over 450 bird species. It has four distinctly different eco-systems; Serondela with its lush plains and dense forests in the extreme North-East of Chobe River area, the Savuti Marsh area in the West, the Linyati Swamps in the North West and the hot dry hinterland in between the other three.
One of its biggest attractions is the annual zebra migration. It also boasts one of the largest elephant populations in Africa. The elephants are migratory and move from the Chobe and Linyati rivers where they concentrate during the dry seasons, to the pans in the southeast section of the park where they disperse during the rains. These elephants are said to have the distinction of being the largest in body size of all living elephants. Their ivory though is brittle and you won?t spot any large tusks on them.
The most popular area is the stretch of the Chobe River from Kasane town to Serondela campsite. Hundreds of hippos and crocodiles gather here. The Savuti region is one of the best-known wildlife places especially for lion sightings. Other major animal species are giraffe, impala, hyenas, leopards, wildebeest, kudu, waterbuck, warthog, jackals and many more. Its rich bird life includes species such as eagles, kingfishers, marabou storks and bee-eaters. For fishing enthusiasts, Chobe River provides a large variety of edible fish. Game viewing is best during the dry season, April to October when the majority of natural pans have dried up. Animals however are present year round.

Day 4: CHOBE NATIONAL PARK
Morning an afternoon game drive activities brings the wildlife into close focus. Herds of elephants and buffalos gather by the riverbanks and are best seen from your safari vehicle. The lodge offers a number of activities including swimming, fishing, bird watching and game-drives.

Day 5: CHOBE/ OKAVANGO DELTA
This morning enjoy your last game activity in the Chobe National Park before checking out and transfer to Kasane Airport for your flight into the hear of the Okavango Delta. On arrival you will be transferred to the lodge for your two nights stay on a full board basis including all game viewing activities.
Khwai River Lodge is located at Moremi, which is part of the Okavango?s complex delta system. Standing on the banks of the Khwai River, this beautiful lodge offers private decks with commanding views of the flood plain on which elephant, hippo and vast varieties of birds can be easily observed, while night drives will reveal a variety of nocturnal creatures hunting and foraging for food.

Day 6: OKAVANGO DELTA
Spend a full day in the Delta exploring the channels of the Okavango Delta and searching for the elusive ?Big Five?. You can see plenty of game from your deck beside the swimming pool shaded by tall trees, or on the viewing platform overlooking the lagoon.
Described as ’the jewel’ of the Kalahari, the Okavango Delta is the largest inland delta in the world. It is an isolated oasis set in Botswana’s harsh and arid desert. It consists of a web of lagoons, lakes and hidden channels covering an area of over 17,000 square kilometers. Its waters are surprisingly clear and pure due to the fact that it passes through very sparsely populated areas.
Over 400 species of birds flourish here, especially the water-loving birds. Fishing can take place anywhere in the delta but the major fishing camps are in the north of the delta, in the Panhandle. On the mainland and among the various islands in the delta, lions, elephants, hyenas, wild dog, buffalo, hippo and crocodiles congregate with a large variety of antelope and other smaller animals. Its fertile shores draw these animals to it making the area one of the best big five African safari destinations.

Day 7& 8: OKAVANGO DELTA
After your mornings game viewing activity you will be transferred to the airstrip. You will be collected for your flight transfer to Eagle (Xaxaba) Island. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Eagle Island Camp for your two nights stay on a full board basis including all game viewing activities.
Eagle Island Camp is a luxurious camp and the perfect base from which explorers view a treasure chest of game and aquatic birds. Surrounded by magnificent landscapes, this premier wildlife site is a haven for every variety of bird with an appetite for fish, while the camp itself is the ideal spot from which to watch the sun set over the Delta. Game-viewing activities consist of nature walks and mokoro (canoe) trips.

Day 9: OKAVANGO DELTA/ MAUN/ JOHANNESBURG
Today bid farewell to the amazing Okavango Delta. Transfer to the airstrip for your charter flight to Maun, to connect onto Johannesburg for your flight back home.

Children under 12 years pay 50% of adult rate. No children under 6 years allowed in the Delta Camps.
