Tour Summary:
Places to visit: Arusha, Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Serengeti and Lake Manyara. This safari takes you through the highlights of the unrivalled parks of northern Tanzania. And you do all this in a relaxed 8 days. You start at Tarangire, famous for its dense wildlife population. Then to Ngorongoro Crater, which supports a year round resident population of a variety of wildlife. It is an attraction in its own right and is one of the wonders of the natural world.
You then head to Serengeti, probably the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world. Serengeti is a big game haven that also hosts over 3 million large mammals! You then close at Lake Manyara National Park, an ornithologists’ paradise that is also noted for the elusive tree-climbing lions.
Accommodation is in some of the best lodges / hotels throughout the safari.

Itinerary:
Day 1: ARUSHA
On arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, meet and assist at Airport. Transfer by
your drive to Impala hotel.
Dinner and overnight at Impala Hotel
Day 2: ARUSHA - TARANGIRE
After breakfast, you depart for Tarangire National Park. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge.
After lunch relax for a short while and later go for an afternoon game drive.
Tarangire is a park of giant baobab trees, rolling savannah and acacia parkland.
Home of the rare tree-climbing pythons, this park offers the best accommodation during the dry season. Due to the existence of the Tarangire River, thousands of animals make their way to this park in search of water. It is in this 2,850 sq. Km park that you are very likely to encounter Lions, Leopards, Zebras, Buffaloes, Wildebeest among others. And just like many parks in Tanzania, this one also has an abundant array of 550 or more species of birds setting the stage to an incredible bird watching experience.

Day 3: TARANGIRE - NGORONGORO
After breakfast depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you will have lunch at your lodge. The lodge sits on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater from where you get awesome views of the collapsed volcano.
After a short rest break, proceed for an afternoon tour of the crater. This area’s main attraction is the Ngorongoro Crater, fondly known as “Africa’s Garden of Eden”. A candidate for the new seven wonders of the world, this massive crater holds its own in that category. Being the world’s largest unbroken caldera, Ngorongoro is home to over 25,000 animals. It is considered one of the best game viewing spots in the world with a chance to see the big five, zebras and wildebeests. The crater holds almost every individual species of wildlife in East Africa including the extremely rare and critically endangered Black Rhino.

Day 4: NGORONGORO - SERENGETI
After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park passing via Olduvai Gorge. Olduvai Gorge is the prehistoric site where Dr. Louis Leakey discovered the remains of Homo habilis ( ’Handy man’ ) regarded as mankind?s first step on the path of human evolution. You arrive in time for lunch at your lodge.
Later in the day afternoon game drive in the park. Serengeti is the stage on which the most spectacular wonder of nature takes place, the Great Migration. It is on this park that millions of ungulates comprising of wildebeests and zebras make that all important trek from the Serengeti to the Maasai Mara National Park in Kenya. But that’s not all the Serengeti has to offer, it boasts the largest and highest concentration of wildlife in the world. Spanning an impressive 15,000 sq km area, this savannah is home to all the members of the Big 5, the splendid cheetah, gazelles, African wild dog, giraffes and approximately 500 species of bird, making it a bird watchers’ paradise as well.

Day 5 & 6: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
0630 hrs- depart for an early morning game drive. Return for breakfast, collect lunch boxes and proceed at 1000 hrs for a full day of game viewing in the Serengeti. You will have a picnic lunch in the course of the day. Return to the lodge at 1700 hrs.

Day 7: SERENGETI - LAKE MANYARA
0630 hrs- depart for an early morning game drive in the Serengeti. After breakfast, drive at 1000 hrs to the Ngorongoro Highlands. You will have lunch at Gibbs Farm, formerly a working coffee farm. Then proceed for an afternoon visit of the waterfalls en-route to Lake Manyara to arrive in time for dinner at your lodge.
You will spend the night at Kirurumu Tented Lodge. The lodge is perched on the edge of the Mto Wa Mbu escarpment and has great views of the Great Rift Valley and Lake Manyara itself.

Day 8: LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK - DEPART
After breakfast, depart at 0830 hrs for a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Famous for its breathtaking show of flamingos, this park also host to the very rare tree-climbing lions. This is the only other location in the world where you can encounter these elusive lions. Add the over 400 species of birds, Big Five, blue monkeys, dik-dik, gazelle, hippo, giraffe, impala among others and this 330 sq. km park is a game lover and birdwatchers’ paradise.
Return to the lodge for lunch. 1400 hrs- Drive back to Arusha. Later in the evening drop off at Kilimanjaro International Airport.

The above prices are based on a minimum of 2 persons. A price reduction is available for numbers above two persons. Six persons may enjoy up to 25% saving on the per person rate!
When arranging for your international air tickets, note that it is usually cheaper to disembark at Nairobi in Kenya. You then take a shuttle bus to Arusha at a cost of US$ 20. This shuttle bus leaves at 0800 and 1400 hrs daily from either Nairobi or Arusha. The drive takes 5 hours inclusive of time taken to go through the Immigration at Namanga border. If you wish to make use of this option, please indicate so.
