The Danakil Depression in northern Ethiopia, with its sulphur fumaroles and lunar-like landscape, also offers numerous opportunities for extreme adventure.
Ethiopia can be visited throughout the year, although the best time to visit the country is between October and April (just after the rains). During this period the country is wonderfully green with a riot of wild flowers. The rainy season, usually from mid June to early October, is not ideal for Ethiopia vacations.
