Day-by-Day Programme

Come to Ol Pejeta Private Conservancy with your fellow travellers to see several of Africa’s most endangered animals thriving in their natural environment, and learn why conservation is the key to sustaining Africa’s rich wildlife heritage.

Day 1: Nairobi - Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Enjoy an early breakfast at your hotel before meeting your guide, who will be driving you to the Ol Pejeta Sanctuary. Your scenic drive through the pleasant rural countryside takes about 4 hours and will have you at your camp in time for lunch. Relax and admire the scenery.

After lunch at Sweetwaters Camp you will have some free time to settle into your tented accommodation, explore your surroundings and perhaps have a nap in preparation for your first wildlife activity, the afternoon game drive.

The accommodation at Sweetwaters Tented Camp provides the perfect combination of luxury and ambiance, to ensure that you enjoy a classic ‘under-canvas” safari experience. Each of the spacious en-suite tents has its own private verandah overlooking the water hole, which is frequented by a variety of animals. This is the perfect spot to relax with a book or admire the bird life.

Your afternoon game drive will take you into the heart of the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, which has an excellent density of game, including the famous Big Five. Ol Pejeta is also at the forefront of conservation in Kenya and their Rhino breeding project ensures that this is one of the few remaining places in East Africa where you can see endangered Rhino in the wild.

Back at the camp you can enjoy drinks at the night-viewing bar which overlooks the floodlit water hole before dinner and later drift off to sleep in high anticipation of some excellent game viewing tomorrow.

Dinner and overnight at Serena Sweetwaters Camp.

Day 2: Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Ol Pejeta Conservancy’s aim is to conserve and protect several endangered species. This is the site of the only Chimpanzee Sanctuary in East Africa, and the Conservancy is also at the forefront of many other conservation projects, besides their successful Rhino sanctuary. They are continually monitoring the key species to provide accurate and timely information essential to their continued survival. In addition, the Conservancy is committed to many uplifting community projects.

Today you will have the full day to observe many of Africa’s most impressive animals as you enjoy morning and afternoon game drives. Various other activities are also on offer at a small additional cost, such as walking safaris, night drives, and cultural visits. (If you have the time to extend your visit to Ol Pejeta we can even arrange a Camel safari for you in this magical wildlife sanctuary!)

When you have a moment between game viewing activities you can relax around the pool.

Dinner and overnight at Serena Sweetwaters Camp.

Day 3: Ol Pejeta Conservancy - Nairobi

After your early wake-up call you have the chance to enjoy a final morning game drive, returning to the lodge for breakfast.

Check out and depart at a convenient time for the drive back to Nairobi where you will be dropped at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight, or your Nairobi hotel.
