Day-by-Day Programme

Maximise every moment of your game-viewing time in the Amboseli National Park by choosing a Fly-In safari with your fellow travellers; this itinerary will have you in the heart of Elephant country in just 45minutes.

Day 1: Nairobi - Amboseli National Park

It’s the first day of your Amazing Amboseli Adventure, and to ensure you take advantage of every moment of your safari, our representative will be at your hotel bright and early to transfer you to Wilson Domestic Airport for your scheduled flight to the Amboseli National Park. Your 45min flight departs at 07.30, so that you will be in the heart of Amboseli by mid-morning.

On arrival your guide will meet you at the airstrip and you will get your first taste of what the next few days have in store for you as you enjoy a leisurely game drive en route to your lodge. Arrive in time for check-in and lunch.

After a delicious buffet-style lunch there will be time for you to settle into your spacious and comfortable room. All rooms are attractively appointed with a distinct African theme, to remind you that you are a guest in the homeland of the proud Masai tribe. Your private balcony offers sweeping views across the wetlands to towering Mount Kilimanjaro, across the border in Tanzania.

Your first afternoon game drive will introduce you to the amazing Elephants of Amboseli, as well as offer you the chance to see some members of the Big Five and plenty of plains animals.

Back at the lodge there will be time for refreshing sundowners overlooking the wetlands, before you enjoy dinner and drift off to sleep to the sounds of the African wilderness.

Dinner and overnight at Ol Tukai Lodge.

Day 2: Amboseli National Park

You have a full day to appreciate the majesty of Amboseli. The park is situated on the foothills of Africa’s tallest mountain, iconic Mount Kilimanjaro. Amboseli is essentially an arid Park; a series of swamp areas, fed by the melting glacial snowcaps of Mount Kilimanjaro provide just about the only life-sustaining water in this starkly beautiful landscape. The wetlands attract huge numbers of animals, and you will have the exceptional experience of watching Elephants and Hippos compete for wallowing rights, while great herds of Buffalo and grazers wait patiently for their turn to quench their thirst.

Amboseli is home to over 700 swamp-loving Elephants and is widely known to be the best place in Kenya to get really close to these intelligent giants in their natural surroundings. The Big Five can all be spotted in Amboseli and the unique landscape, dominated by the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro makes for some magical photo opportunities.

Your lodge offers morning and late-afternoon game drives each day, or you can opt to spend an entire day out in the wilderness with a packed picnic lunch. In between game viewing activities you can also enjoy optional extras such as bush breakfasts or dinners, guided nature or bird-watching walks or cultural visits to a Masai community. (A small additional charge applies to these activities.) If you prefer, simply relax around the pool and enjoy the brilliant African sunshine or spend some time surveying the plains from your private balcony.

In the evenings you can watch the sunset from the terrace and perhaps spend some time with your colleagues swopping stories about the best sightings or photos as you gather around a traditional campfire.

Dinner and overnight at Ol Tukai Lodge.

Day 3: Amboseli National Park - Nairobi

You departure today will be determined by your international flight. If you will be departing late in the afternoon, you will need an early transfer to the airstrip to catch your flight to Nairobi departing at 0920hrs. On arrival in Nairobi at 09.50hrs, you will be transferred to the International Airport for your onward flight. However, if you are catching a late-night flight, you can opt to depart Amboseli mid-afternoon, at 15.30hrs, arriving in Nairobi 16.30.

To bring your Amboseli Adventure to an appropriate close, we can arrange on optional farewell dinner at the renowned Carnivore Restaurant (or any other venue of your choosing) in Nairobi, before your transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight back home.
