4. Etosha National Park- Namibia’s Top Draw Attraction

Summary:
The Grand Namibian is a luxury tour that takes you through the hotshots of Namibia’s wild and bewildering countryside in style.

Namibia is vastly a desert country beamed with bleak, uneven and feral magnificence. Its most stunning imagery is that of haunting technicolor landscapes of swirling orange dunes, shimmering mirages and treacherous dust devils.

Every stop and overnight stay is exceptionally remarkable! Encounter nature and culture up-close; experience the city, desert dunes, historic sites and rock paintings, the Bushmen and the tribes-people of Himba and see the amazing hordes of wildlife.

PROGRAM

DAY 1: WINDHOEK
===============
Arrive at Windhoek International Airport. You’ll be met by your guide/ driver.Depending on your time of arrival, a short city tour of Windhoek as you head out of the city for an overnight.

DAY 2: SWAKOPMUND COAST
=======================
Destination -the coastal town of Swakopmund. You get to visit Namibia’s most celebrated plant, the ancient Welwitchia Mirabilis, found on the vast plains. Also tour Walvis Bay – home to thousands of water birds as well as some of the highest sand dunes in the world.

DAY 3: SWAKOPMUND – DAMARALAND
==============================
Today you travel along the coastal road to the Cape Cross Seal
Reserve to see the biggest seal colony in the world. The tour turns
back to Henties Bay and travels inland past the Brandberg Mountains into timeless Damaraland on our way to Twyfelfontein. Here, you get to visit the rock formations called the Organ Pipes and the Burned Mountain.

At Twyfelfontein we take a guided tour to seen the more than 2,400
historic rock engravings and paintings.

DAY 4: DAMARALAND (TSUMEB)
==========================

Depart towards Khorixas and stop at the Petrified Forest. A guide
will accompany you to hundreds of trees, some up to 30 metres.
You can also see the Welwitchia Mirabilis, a prehistoric plant that
survived a deadly flood centuries ago. Next stop is the ‘Vingerklip”,
a rock that points like a finger into the sky.

DAY 5: KAOKOLAND – ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK

Here, the tour goes Ethno. Meet the beautiful Himba people; learn
of their timeless culture and experience their way living. Later depart for the Etosha Game Reserve where you will stay overnight at the edge of the park.

DAY 6: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK
===========================
Full day game drive through the Park The Etosha National Park –otherwise known as “the place of dry water” is Namibia's top draw attraction, which you will not miss on any good value tour of the country.

Etosha nourishes life in abundance in the seething heat of Namibia’s north. Recorded inhabitants of the sanctuary include 114 mammal species, over 340 bird species, 110 reptile species, and swarms of insect species.The park has rich, magical backdrops, and some of the best wildlife photographs have been taken here.

DAY 7: ETOSHA – TSUMEB

Depart Etosha for Tsumeb making a stop at Otjikoto Lake –Namibia’s
largest permanent lake believed to be bottomless. German troops
dumped their wagons with cannons and ammunition into the lake
during the 1914 war and some are yet to be recovered.
Next stop is Grootfontein to see the more than 60 tons Hoba meteorite.

DAY 8: TSUMEB
=============
At Roy’s Camp, enjoy another Ethno-safari. Meet a tribe of Bushmen who live in the area and become one with them. Go with them into the bush to see how they track wild animals, make fire with sticks and live.Watch them dance and sing around a camp fire. You may also try and shoot with their bow and arrows.

DAY 9: TSUMEB – WINDHOEK

Travel back to Windhoek for an overnight in the beautiful city. This is your safari’s pit-stop through the beautiful land of splendour; defined by contrasting landscapes, topographical diversity, vast wilderness and a phenomenal climatography!
