Sala’s Camp straddles the Sand River at the southern end of the Maasai Mara, lying within the spectacular Mara National Reserve itself. Being in a pristine wilderness area with prolific wildlife, the camp is situated in the centre of the Wildebeest migration routes. The camp nestles in a shaded forest, looking southwards into the Northern Serengeti and Tanzania beyond.

Recreation:

Sala’s Camp has the good fortune of being located on the convergence of 2 rivers, and in the heart of the Masai Mara. This secluded spot offers tranquility and tremendous views along the Sand River towards Tanzania and the Serengeti. From the tents guests are able to enjoy an abundance of birdlife and wildlife. The camp prides itself on its owner managed hospitality and impeccable service.

During the Great Wildebeest Migration in the months of early July to end October, Sala’s Camp is ideally located since many of the animals move back and forth from the Serengeti in search of lush grasslands in the Mara. The game viewing during this time is exceptional, with dramatic river crossings and attendant predators. The camp also lies adjacent to a designated Rhino conservation area.

Accommodation is in seven en-suite tents, one being a large family/honeymoon tent comprising of a double room with central sitting area. Tents are either twin or double. The spacious luxury furnished tents have en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets & safari bucket showers with plenty of hot water. Electricity is solar powered (via invertors), giving all tents plenty of light. There is a standby generator for refrigeration and to charge any equipment, cameras etc.

CUISINE

Camp food is cooked in the traditional appetizing safari style, using a camp fire, and assisted with a gas cooker. Home baked pastries, breads and biscuits are a speciality. Produce is all farm sourced and free from artificial pesticides. We offer a combination of international dishes and a variety of food to suit all tastes. Children’s needs and special dietary requirements can easily be catered for.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Reservations that are canceled, reduced in length of stay or reduced in numbers are subject to cancellation and no show fees.

- Prices and availability are subject to revision without prior notice owing to currency, tax, levy and seasonal fluctuations
- Sala’s camp is closed from 15th March to 14th June and 15th October to 14th December.
Park/Reserve gate opens at 0600am and closes at 0600pm

CHECK IN TIME / CHECK OUT TIME

Check in time at hotels is 1100hrs.
Early check in will be charged at extra night.
Late arrivals should be advised in advance to avoid auto cancellation of the reservation.
In case check in is delayed than the expected arrival date, the delay will be treated as no show.

Check out time is at 1000hrs.
Day room use can be arranged at extra fee and is applicable from 1000hrs to 1800hrs.
Room use after 1800hrs will be charged at full night rate.
