Summary:
On this Goup tour you will Experience the Highlights of Garden Route Safari while staying in a quality Guest House. On the first day you will visit the Cango Caves and Ostrich Farm at Oudtshoorn, then travel to Plettenberg Bay where you will have spectacular oceanic views on the second day. On the third day tour Tsitsikamma National Park where you will enjoy game drives and bird watching. Then proceed to Mossel Bay on the fourth day and explore Hermanus on the last day.

Garden Route which lies east of Cape Town is one of South Africa’s most magnificent, awe-inspiring stretches of coastline of about 200 km and encompasses some of South Africa’s most beautiful beaches, mountains, and rivers. It has an Oceanic climate (mildest) all year round and there are countless of activities to enjoy including hiking, whale-watching, swimming, ostrich riding, golfing, bungee jumping and more.
The Garden Route boasts an astounding array of indigenous flora and fauna and attracts adventurers and holiday-makers from far afield. A wide range of leisure options, spectacular scenery and a mild climate guarantee an unforgettable holiday experience when visiting the Garden Route.

Itinerary:
DAY 1: OUDTSHOORN
Pick up from your hotel or Cape Town airport early in the morning and depart for Oudtshoorn. The journey will take you through rolling hills and farming towns before we reach South Africa’s centre for ostrich breeding. Later in the afternoon you will visit the famous Cango Caves which create a mysterious and interesting environment for visitors offering adventurous expeditions and discoveries. Cango Caves are a series of caves made up of a succession of underground holes and enclosures. You can either decide to take an Adventure tour into the deeper and darker parts of the Cango Caves or take a standard tour in relaxed pace of exploring these underground caves. Spend the rest of the afternoon at the Cango Caves and visit an ostrich farm either the same afternoon or the next morning.

Overnight at Kleinplaas or similar (rooms with en-suite bathroom)

DAY 2: PLETTENBERG BAY
After breakfast take a drive over the Outeniqua which offers amazing views over the Swartberg escarpment and the Indian Ocean. The final destination for the day will be Plettenberg Bay, where you will spend the remainder of the day at leisure after passing through he small coastal towns of George, Wilderness, Sedgefield and Knysna.

Overnight at Ploughman’s Rest on bed and breakfast basis

DAY 3: PLETTENBERG / TSITSIKAMMA
After breakfast take a tour to the famous Tsitsikamma National Park. The park has spectacular scenery which includes the Indian Ocean breakers, fynbos rolling down to the sea and ever-green forests. Once here you will have the opportunity to go to the highest bungee jump at Bloukrantz. More than 200 species of birds have been recorded here. For bird lovers you will not want to miss this. Wildlife sightings range from dolphins and whales to caracal, genet, chacma baboons, dussies, mongooses and even leopards.
Spend the day hiking to the suspension bridge at Storms River mouth.

Overnight at Ploughman’s Rest on bed and breakfast basis

DAY 4: MOSSEL BAY
Today you will depart leisurely from Plettenberg Bay to a private game reserve near Mossel Bay, to arrive in the early afternoon. After lunch at your own cost depart for an afternoon game drive. You will spot some animals that Botlierskop Game Reserve has to offer. After the exciting game drive experience head to Nyaru Game Lodge

Overnight at Nyaru Game Lodge or similar on bed and breakfast basis (chalets with en-suite bathroom)

DAY 5: CAPE TOWN
After breakfast depart the lodge for Hermanus for exploration. You will visit places such as the winery for wine tasting and the land-based whale watching ( in season). Optional at an extra Cost visit the Shark Cage Diving. Later visit the penguins at Stony Point. Drop off at your Hotel in Cape Town or Airport
