Sun City; Where the SUN never SETS

Sun City is on the territory of the former homeland of Bophuthatswansisee Mmabathol. It exists because Bophuthatswana state was chosen to be an independent country by the apartheid regime.

Sun City is set deep in the rugged bushveld in the Bojanala region of the North West province, in the centre of a volcanic valley surrounded by the slopes of the Pilanesberg Mountains less than 2 hours drive from Johannesburg. It started as a vision realized through a multi million-dollar investment and unshakable faith in tourism of Sol Kerzner. The dream began with the luxurious hotel in the Sun and evolved to other hotels in the region. Construction started in 1960s.

Perennially sunny climate makes it ideal for visit anytime; midwinter is in June & July while the summer is in December & January.

Sun City provided immoral entertainment, which was banned in South Africa but now stands for luxurious hotels, restaurants & bars, beautifully laid out water gardens, excellent golf courses, unusual gambling halls, executive casinos, theatres, cinema halls and first class sizzling entertainment shows.

Sun City is a resort of its own kind- rhythm beats its own drum and is known for its charming oeuvre and offers mind-bogging entertainment and out-of-this-world experience like rides, exciting water parks, varied and extensive conference venues, videogames, Valley of waves and a choice of superb hotels to suit all budgets.

Sun City hotels are four world class of the Sun International chain. The hotels are the Palace that glitters like a jewel under the African sun, overlooking the Gary Player Golf Course is the Sun City Hotel, experience the tropical paradise in Cascades Hotel and Cabanas Hotel opens onto lush gardens leading down the lake and water-world.

Near the resort is the Pilanesberg National Park a home for the big five that will delight all game views.
