General information
The main highlights of this park are towering mountains, moonlit beaches, vegetation and buzzing city life. The park is located between two world- famous landmarks, the mighty Table Mountain and the Cape of Good Hope. The land on which the park sits is located in the Southwestern most corner of Africa.

The most attractive sections in the park are between Simon's town and Cape point. Also known as Table Mountain National Park, the park is at close proximity with Cape Town. The park has been describes as one of six floral kingdoms in the world.

How to get there
Cape Town has an international airport with national and international flights. Car hire facilities are available at the airport and within the city center to the park. There is also a railway line from Cape Town along the False Bay Coastline to Simon's town.

Major Attraction
African Penguins in Cape Peninsula South AfricaDescribed by many as a floral kingdom, this park is replete with breathtaking views, pleasant atmosphere arising from the beaches and lush vegetation. These come in the form of the world- famous Table Mountain also known as Hoerikwaggo, "Mountain of the Sea". Another major attraction is Cape Point, the most southwesterly tip of Africa and the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens that display a variety of the region's ancient floral kingdom.

There are the Boulders that are home to a multitude of rare African Penguins. The Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve located in Cape Point has a number of drives and picnic sites. It is also home to baboons, zebra, eland, red hartebeest, ostrich and the pretty bontebok. In addition to the above, there is also tortoise and ostrich.

The reserve is punctuated by arresting views of beaches and the coastline. These are mostly deserted and are therefore perfect for long solitude walks or meditation.

Vegetation in the park is composed mainly of three plants; the Cape reed or restiose grasses, the small-leafed heath- like ericas and leathery- leafed proteas. There is also beach vegetation in the form of strandveld, which has adapted to the salty coastal marine sand.
